Cisco Market Place


Quem nunca quis ganhar uma camiseta, boné, chaveiro, cordão, guarda-chuva ou qualquer outra coisa com o logotipo da Cisco ao participar de um evento da gigante das redes ? No Cisco Market Place vc pode adquirir dezenas de itens personalizados como estes.
Para quem gosta de adquirir souvenirs com o logo da Cisco, uma boa opção é o Cisco Market Place. Como sugeriu o Aldrin no Forum do ccna.com.br, o ideal é fazer a compra de vários itens num mesmo pedido para pagar um frete único.

A diversidade de itens é bem grande e parece que há coisas que só um CCIE pode comprar. Outro problema levantado no Forum é que a Cisco só trabalha com Fedex priority para despacho internacional, o qual chega em 3 dias mas é bem caro.

Alguém ai está a fim de adquirir algo ?

Cenários da Prova 640-802

Fique por dentro dos cenários e de outras questões que são cobradas na Prova 640-802 e se torne um CCNA !
Ontem prestei a Prova 640-802 para ver o seu nível de dificuldade. Meu CCNA/CCDA/CCNP ainda é valido até dezembro de 2012 mas, como venho prestando apenas as Provas do CCNP para renovar minhas certs nos últimos anos, ainda não havia prestado a Prova atual do CCNA.

Para mim é importante ter esta experiência pois ministro aulas de CCNA e queria sentir na pele como esta o novo exame. Geralmente me preparo no mínimo um mês para prestar um exame Cisco mas, desta vez, fiz a Prova num estilo totalmente kamikaze. Nada de leituras adicionais, Testkings, PAss4sures ou coisas do gênero. Entrei na cabine com a cara e a coragem sem o compromisso e o stress de ter que passar !

O que mais me chamou a atenção foram os 2 cenários que cairam na Prova:

Um Troubleshooting de Roteamento onde era necessário alterar o número do sistema autonomo do EIGRP em um router recentemente instalado e inserir uma declaração network no roteador vizinho para que todas as redes fossem aprendidas

Uma implementação de access-list estendida que em 3 linhas permitisse um único host de uma determinada LAN a acessar um Web Server numa outra rede, bloqueasse o acesso HTTP a todos os demais hosts da LAN e permitisse todos os outros tráfegos de qualquer origem. (o legal nesse cenário foi fazer os testes de acesso HTTP num browser virtual em cada host da LAN no melhor estilo Packet Tracer !)

Mas a questão que achei mais complexa e desafiadora foi um bloco de 5 questões baseadas num cenário onde o candidato a CCNA tinha acesso a um único Switch via console e deveria descobrir informações dos Switches vizinhos baseado no plano de endereçamento apresentado na topologia, mais as saidas dos comandos:

show mac-address-table
show vlan
show cdp neighbors detail

Muito interessante ! Vou ver se encontro esta questão num Testking da vida para conferir as respostas ! rsrsrs

Bom, acho que isso é o me chamou a atenção, gostaria que as pessoas que prestaram a 640-802 postassem aqui suas impressões sobre o exame.

A ComputerWorld lançou uma nova edição com a lista das 70 melhores empresas de TI e Telecom para se trabalhar. Será que a sua empresa está nela ???Apesar de muitos afirmarem que tais pesquisas são tendenciosas e dependem muito do humor do funcionário quando este respondeu ao questionário e de quanto a empresa se esforçou em fazer marketing interno almejando uma boa posição na lista, eu creio que a mesma nos dá uma idéia de bons lugares para se procurar novas oportunidades. Vyatta, o concorrente livre dos roteadores Cisco

Faz tempo que eu quero escrever algo sobre o Vyatta, e gostaria de saber se alguém que acompanha o Netfinders já o utilizou. Pelo que eu vi, é muito semelhante ao JunOS. Vamos lá:

Vyatta é uma solução de roteador, firewall e VPN de código aberto, com suporte comercial, criada para concorrer com as soluções proprietárias existentes no mercado, como as da Cisco.

Na sua essência, o Vyatta é uma distribuição Linux baseada no Debian especialmente desenvolvida para funcionar como um roteador, incluindo uma interface de gerenciamento que facilita a configuração de diversos serviços como rotas dinâmicas, DHCP, proxy, alta disponibilidade etc.

Por ser baseado em software, o Vyatta pode ser instalado em qualquer hardware convencional ou mesmo ser virtualizado. Por ser um software livre, ele pode ser obtido gratuitamente, incluindo seu código-fonte. Por ser uma distribuição Linux, você pode instalar e configurar qualquer software que não seja originalmente suportado pelo Vyatta. Por ser um produto comercial, você pode contratar serviços de suporte e treinamento, tendo inclusive a opção de adquirir appliances, que são hardwares especializados que já vêm com o Vyatta instalado.

Com certeza a virtualização é uma das tecnologias que tem mais se difundido no mercado.

Tecnologia Cisco StackWise

A tecnologia StackWise permite interligar Switches Catalyst 3750 e 3750E num único bloco gerenciavel possibilitando gerenciamento centralizado, configuração única e stack ring de 32 Gbps.

Switches 3750 possibilitam o empilhamento de até nove dispositivos que atuam de forma integrada. Um Switch master é eleito na pilha e possibilita a gerência do grupo atráves de um único endereço IP. Uma única configuração pode ser imposta e o ideal é que a mesma versão de IOS seja usada em todas as caixas (O próprio master pode exportar seus IOS aos novos membros, solicitar de um TFTP Server a imagem adequada ou colocar a caixa em quarentena solicitando um upgrade manual da imagem do sistema).

Existem duas variações do StackWise: O Stackwise tradicional criado para os Switches 3750 e o StackWise Plus criado para os novos Switches 3750E. Para utilizar a nova versão, todas as caixas devem ser 3750E. Caso existam os dois modelos dentro da pilha, o Stackwise tradicional é adotado.

Diferenças

O Stackwise tradicional tem duas desvantagens:

1) Todo o tráfego unicast deve ser inserido no stack ring para ser entregue ao destino final (mesmo que este esteja no switch local), ocupando banda desnecessariamente (no Local Switching)



2) Quem deve remover um quadro unicast do ar é a origem, o que força um quadro já entregue a percorrer toda a pilha (Source Stripped)



Assim, o Stackwise Plus permite unicast Destination Stripped (Destino remove quado do ar) e Local Switching (quadro pode ser entregue pelo Switch local sem passar pelo stack ring)

É importante lembrar que:

a) Tráfego Multicast e Broadcast sempre usam o método Source Stripped nas 2 versões do Stackwise, já que os destinos podem estar em diferentes switches da pilha.

b) Mesmo trabalhando com Stackwise tradicional numa pilha mista, o 3750E ainda pode fazer Local Switching.

Crie seus Labs de Redes com NetKit

O software Netkit é um emulador de redes que permite a criação de experimentos de redes de computadores virtuais, incluindo os dispositivos de hardwares necessários para seu suporte como roteadores, servidores, switches, e da criação dos enlaces.

Além do hardware, estes equipamentos virtuais são inicializados com softwares reais que em execução oferecem experiência real ao estudante para a realização de diversos estudos, mesmo que tenha apenas um computador em sua casa.

O Netkit utiliza softwares de código aberto, principalmente licenciados pela GPL, usando em suas máquinas uma variação do kernel Linux chamada UML (User Mode Linux). Para montar uma rede o Netkit usa um conjunto de arquivos de configurações e pastas, que formam um laboratório virtual. Um laboratório também pode ser inicializado através de scripts ou através da linguagem NetML que é uma linguagem baseada em XML para descrição de redes.

Uma máquina virtual iniciada pelo netkit é um computador completo rodando uma distribuição mono usuário da distribuição Debian GNU/Linux. Para transformar essa máquina num dispositivo específico basta executar o software adequado.

O Netkit é distribuído em 3 pacotes, o software base, o kernel e o sistema de arquivos. A última versão deve ser baixada no site http://wiki.netkit.org. Os links dos pacotes utilizados são:

Uma boa dica de leitura para os Ciscomaniacos neste Feriadão é o livro Inside Cisco IOS Software Architecture.
Geralmente estamos tão ocupados com a configuração dos equipamentos que nem temos tempo para entender melhor a arquitetura do IOS. Este livro dá uma boa noção sobre diversos aspectos do principal Sistema operacional dos equipamentos da Cisco, tais como:

Saiba mais sobre CEF

Cisco Express Forwarding - CEF - é um termo usado para descrever um dos mecanismos mais utilizados pelos roteadores e Switches Cisco para encaminhar pacotes.
CEF é encontrada em quase todos os roteadores Cisco IOS e switches Catalyst. Entretanto, a documentação sobre o tema é bastante escassa. Do ponto de vista do pessoal técnico, CEF é um tema amplamente mal compreendido, cuja aplicação varia significativamente em múltiplas plataformas Cisco. engenheiros da Cisco, parceiros, integradores e clientes carecem de material sobre o tema para corretamente implantar, manter e solucionar problemas em sua redes.

Incrível crescimento de divulgação de vulnerabilidades

Pesquisa realizada na IBM indica aumento incrível de vulnerabilidades divulgadas nos primeiros seis meses de 2010. Segundo a IBM na primeira metade deste ano foram documentadas 4.396 novas vulnerabilidades, o que representa um aumento de 36% em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado.

O que mais me chama atenção não é o número de vulnerabilidades divulgadas, pra mim a informação mais impressionante é que 55% dessas vulnerabilidades não tiveram seus pacotes de correções lançados até a data do fim da pesquisa.
